This unforgettable programme at the Marine Park in Malta allows guests to meet the dolphins up close and learn about their behaviour, communication, and daily routines.

The Marine Park is home to five dolphins: Ninu, Cha, Rohan, Luqa, and Sol. Each dolphin has its own personality, making every encounter unique. During the experience, small groups enter a 6‑metre‑deep pool accompanied by a professional trainer, where they interact with the dolphins and observe their natural social behaviour first‑hand.

Programme Details and Age Requirements

This special 30‑minute dolphin swim must be booked in advance. It is open to adults and children aged 6 to 12 years, offering a safe and educational experience for families visiting Malta.

During the experience, guests will enjoy a respectful and immersive encounter with the dolphins. You will watch them swim gracefully around you, learn how to touch them gently and correctly, and communicate through simple training signals. The experience also includes insights into dolphin anatomy and unique physical characteristics, including hearing the distinctive sound produced by their blowhole.

The activity features two underwater observation sessions using a mask, giving guests the chance to witness the dolphins’ speed, agility, and natural movement beneath the surface. These moments offer a deeper understanding of how dolphins interact within their environment.

Guests are encouraged to Book well in advance of their arrival in Malta to secure availability. Prices and activity times may vary depending on the season, with rates starting at €160 for adults, senior citizens, and children.

Booking Requirements

• Advance bookings for the Swim With Dolphins in Malta activity are compulsory.
• All participants must be good, confident swimmers.
• Bookings must be submitted through the booking form.

Age & Height Eligibility

• Adults: Age 13+
• Children: Age 6–12
• Minimum height: 105 cm (shoulder height)
• Children aged 6 and 7 may participate if they meet the height requirement and are accompanied by a participating parent/guardian.
• Children aged 8+ may participate on their own.
• Children under 12 must present an official document confirming their age at the park entrance.

Spectator Information

• Family or friends who wish to watch the Swim With Dolphins activity should select Spectators in the booking form and will be provided with a Day Ticket.
• The Day Ticket also includes access to all daily educational presentations at the park.

Safety & Restrictions

• Wearing a wetsuit is mandatory for all participants entering the pool with the dolphins.
• Wetsuits are provided by the park.
• Guests are not allowed to enter the pool with accessories such as earrings, necklaces, rings, watches, bracelets, piercings, contact lenses, glasses, cameras, hair bands, caps, swim caps, or any object that may fall into the pool and harm the dolphins.
• Pregnant women cannot participate in the Swim With Dolphins programme.
• Please inform us before booking if you have any health issues.

Cruise Passenger Advice

• If you are arriving in Malta on a cruise liner, only book the morning Swim With Dolphins activity.
• Afternoon sessions will in most cases not allow enough time to return to port.

Photography Services

• A professional photographer is available on site. The options and delivery methods will be explained to you on site. Note that a video service is not available.

What to Bring

• Participants must bring their own swimwear and towels

Activity Schedule & Weather Conditions

There are generally two Swim With Dolphins sessions per day at the Marine Park in Malta, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. When completing the booking form, you may select Morning Preferred, Afternoon Preferred, or Any Time Available.

If you choose Morning Preferred, you should arrive at the park by 09:30. If you choose Afternoon Preferred, you should arrive by 14:00. Guests who select Any Time Available will have their session allocated based on availability on the day. All swim times remain subject to confirmation.

In rare cases, bookings may be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. If this occurs, you will be notified and offered either an alternative date or a full refund.
